A COLOURFUL & JOYFUL DESTINATION WEDDING IN PUGLIA, ITALY.

CASTLE ELVIRA, PUGLIA
Abandoned for over 100 years, Castle Elvira had been left to ruin. The new owners worked with master artisans to lovingly restore original Italian design elements including beautiful ceramic tiled flooring and hand-painted frescos on the ceilings. The castle opened as a luxury hotel in 2021 and has since won awards for it’s design and service.
A&D chose it for their celebrations, staying onsite with family and friends in the castle’s superb suites.
We joined them for the day to capture photography for them entirely on 35mm and medium format film.
The bride Wearing a vintage dress for her ceremony outfit with make up and hair styled by Holly Fowles Pazdro.
Floral design throughout the wedding by was London based artist PALAIS.
The Groom opted for a bespoke suit and wore matching his sandals to their young son.
Their relaxed ceremony was held in the gardens of the Castle. Paper parasols kept guests cool in the Italian sun and PALAIS designed a colourful, sculptural backdrop.
The cocktailAfter the ceremony guests headed up to the castle rooftop for cocktails, jazz and incredible views over Puglia.
The portraitsWe spent a couple of moments at sunset capturing some portraits with the couple.
The eveningSupper was a leisurely affair on the terrace with three courses of local Italian dishes followed by speeches.
Floral design by PALAIS included local fruit and colourful ceramic urns.
